Button and Mose

Little dog, big attitude.

Miniature Australian Shepherds

We have decided to quit breeding and have retired all of our dogs. We are still in contact with many of our "granddogs" and have lots of friends with Mini Aussies

If you are looking for a pup we will be happy to help you find one.

Please visit My friend Bonita Haer's website

She has some beautiful dogs and usually has a litter either here or on the way.

Sires

Thompsons Red Rex was our second Miniature Australian Shepherd and is the sire of our two current breeding females, Bailey and Sarah. He is 16 1/2 inches and 28 lbs. He is available for stud to approved females only.

Thompsons Hank Reference Sire. Hank sadly passed away September 12, 2006. At 14 inches and 18 lbs, he was a stocky little dog with a lot of spunk. He is greatly missed.

Thompsons Lucky Blue is 15 1/2 inches and 25 lbs of pure energy. He loves to "work" the horses, although they pay little attention to him. He is available for stud to approved females only

Thompsons Poco Hombre "Little Big Man", or as we called him, "Bug" was only with our family for two short years, but what a hole he has left in our hearts. He was sired by Lucky and out of Sarah. He only weighed 2.7 lbs at 8 weeks and 6.6 lbs at 16 weeks and when full grown he was 12 inches and 12 lbs. He had the the cutest face and personality you'll ever find. He was a real lover and a constant source of entertainment. Unfortunately his strong herding instincts took him from us long before his time. He was herding his horses and didn't see a truck coming and ran head on into a wheel. Fortunately he didn't suffer and died instantly, breaking all of our hearts.

Thompsons Poco Uno "Little One", or as we call him, "Button" is the only son of Bug and Haer's Trixie. We thought he was going to be just like his dad, and he is in a lot of ways, but he has his own personality. He's going to be a bit stockier than Bug was. He was an only puppy, but had to compete with his "aunt's" litter of pups that were 2 1/2 weeks older, so he learned to stick up for himself at an early age. Full of spunk, he's my baby - constantly at my side 24/7.

Dams

Thompsons Blue Skye was our first Miniature Australian Shepherd. Sadly we lost her in our house fire in October of 2001. She is very much missed. She was very much a member of our family. Fortunately we still have two of her daughters with Thompsons Red Rex: Thompsons Bailey and Thompsons Sarah.

Thompsons Bailey is a red merle with copper and white and two blue eyes. She is 15 1/2 inches and 22 lbs. She and her sister Sarah were out of Skye and Rex's first litter.

Thompsons Sarah is a red tri  with copper and white markings and amber eyes. She is 15 inches and 20 lbs. She has produced some very nice puppies with Lucky.
