Purebred Dexter Cattle Association

IRISH DEXTERS

Dexters are an Irish breed that historically have been used for meat and milk production as well as as oxen. They are small sturdy cattle that come in black, dun and red, both horned and polled. Typically they are less than 44 inches tall and weigh about 800 lbs at maturity.

In October, 2009 Lisa purchased a registered Purebred Dexter Cow/calf pair,  Little Sunflower and her calf, Peace Paradise Blossom. In the spring of 2010, she added Bobo, Toto and Ferdinand to the herd. Surprisingly, Jim has become almost as excited about them as she is!

Red Gate Ferdinand 2005 dun horned bull sired by Shome Sharli's Sol and out of A.A. Nino. Certified PHA and Chondorplaysia Fee. He is an impressive creature and will be used on Sunflower and Bobo this summer and Blossom and Toto in December.
