"Babe" with the  2009 Braunvieh calves.

BAA Registered Braunvieh

The name "Braunvieh" is sometimes confused as a crossbreed. They are not. They are actually an old European breed and basically are the beefier version of the Brown Swiss. Braunvieh, literally translated means "brown cow". The original Braunviehs imported from Switzerland were often crossed with Angus and today they are a good cross with Angus and Simmental for commercial cattle.

Monty purchased our first registered Braunvieh Cows in 2006 as part of a high school FFA project.

Bred for spring 2010 to Miller Angus Bull

Her 2009 bull calf by PFI Zoom P417

Bull Calf for Sale $1200

PFI MISS POL PEL OF PFI S262

PFI MISS POL PEL OF PFI S262 aka "Big Girl" was purchased as a yearling heifer. The calf at her side is her 09 heifer by PFI ZOOM 417. Big Girl had twin bulls in 2008. She calved with no assistance, but the calves were dead when we found them. She was up licking them, mooing to them and trying to get them up. They were both fully formed 60 lb calves. She is an excellent mother.

Bred for spring 2010 to Miller Angus Bull. She and her 2009 heifer will be retained and bred to Black Icon for 2011.

Note: The steer calf to her right is an example of a YEARLING Beef Builder Steer. He was already bigger than most of our cows and the two year old Angus bull that was running with them last summer!!

T3 Merci Me S601

T3 Merci Me S601 - aka "Baby Girl" was our first Braunveih calved here at the farm. She is out of PFI Miss Boy and sired by PFI Zoom 417. She is pictured with her full brother behind her and her 09 heifer in front of her. This is her second calf. She is a sweetheart to work with and she has calved with no assistance.

Bred for spring 2010 to Miller Angus Bull. She and her heifer will be retained and be bred to Black Icon for 2011.

T3 Honey Bee T703

T3 Honey Bee T703 - aka "Honey Girl" is out of PFI Miss Boy and sired by PFI Zoom. She is pictured with her first calf - a whopping big bull. He was the first calf born this spring and she had him with no assistance.
